BLUE CHRISTMAS CAROL
December 2016
Performed at Vandaler Forening and PNEK Winter Solstice
A ten minute mourning song played on the recorder in a steaming hot shower on the shortest and darkest night in Scandinavia- the Winter Solstice.
In some Christian faiths, the night was the time for “Blue Christmas Mass” in which those who have died in the year would be remembered.
Therefore, the coral trout mourns the death of the Great Barrier Reef as well as the humanitarian and political losses of 2016.
Blue Christmas Carol was awarded the Dusk till Dawn Art Prize and the image by Zane Cerpina was featured on the cover of EE Journal Issue 2.
